Back from a great visit to Prague for the XIX Prague Gothic Treffen where I was djing as part of my celebrations of 25 years of djing 😉 The weather was exactly the same as it was the first time I had the honour of djing at the PGT in 2011 extremely hot. The PGT always harnesses the magic of Prague and this combined with the hard work of the Sanctuary crew makes for the best Gothic festival in Europe where every edition is better than the last 😉

Day 1 Despite the burning sun it was a day for full makeup, the wall of heat was already apparent on the walk up to venue as I sipped my obligatory can of Semtex. There is definitely some ancient spiritual connection which seems to energise me whenever I am in Prague and it felt almost magical – a sign that this was going to a great day.

I mixture of half melted brain and deep immersion in the great music of the day meant that I didn’t manage to take any pictures, So if anyone has some I would love to see them 😉 I think Natalia and sister made some great ones 😉 Great to see so many people who saw me many years ago at The Castle Party came along 😉

It was great to meet and chat with the lovely people from Eat My Teeth, Cosmobrigade, and In Mitra Medusa Inri which was our first meeting after 20 years and luckily they managed to capture it with Ez 😉

A great mix of bands and I managed to see all of the bands some more than others. My favourite band in Fuchs was Abu Nein but Bike Jesus seemed to be awash with so much heat, sweat and musical passion it was kin brilliant 😉 with stunning performances from Cosmobrigade, Eat My Teeth, In Mitra Menus Inri and This Eternal Decay.

Day 2 Didn’t make to the picnic as wanted to make sure I had enough energy.  Managed to see a bit of all bands except Rue Oberkampf  due  drinking and chatting. Favourite bands in Fuchs were Denuit and Girls Under Glass.  Bike Jesus was again rocking with Raskolnikov, SUIR and Whispers in The Shadow.

Managed to hang in to around 5.00am but decided to go so I could see some of Prague on Sunday 😉 I am sure the 20th anniversary of the PGT will be something unique so be there 😉

I know some people might be feeling a bit deflated after such a fantastic weekend so I was able to mix the set from Bike Jesus and due to the windows in my flat being closed during the hot weather I also have the same temperature haha.

Also with it being so hot in my flat and after 2190 days one of my daughters of darkness managed to continue the magic of the weekend by finally moulting and leaving a beautiful replica behind 😉
