I had a friend contact me from Germany about some reviews I did of his music in the early 2000’s as at the time as well as Djing and organising gigs I was also writing lots of album reviews.It also reminded me about Goth in the uk in the late 90s and 2ks and about how much we used the internet in a positive way. We were heavily reliant netgoth for posting gigs and clubnights across the UK and Ireland which help grow the Gothic community.Another dark avenues to develop the goth community was Yahoo groups which I created a Black Veil one for the clubnight in Leeds. It was used by people and myself to publish events, setlists etc. However after a couple of years Yahoo suddenly decided it was an adult group and then blocked access to it so it was not even possible the save historic setlist and event information.
Luckily Some bits exist on paper or were on Livejournal which was also popular amongst the goth community in the UK. I had started a live journal running parallel with the Black Veil so some info was saved there after that was destroyed by Yahoo.
Livejournal was American owned when it first started in 1999. It changed hands a few times. However the big change came in 2007 when it was sold to russian company Supmedia who moved everything onto a russian server by 2014.They then sold it to serbank in 2020 Luckily before then I had a wordpress blog and my current website.
Before the full-scale in war wa launched by ruzzia in Ukraine, I had viewed the old reviews on livejournal and they were still all there, however like the communazis they are, when they are not lying, or replacing history with propaganda they are either burning books in Ukraine or digitally burning and removing lots of goth livejournals leaving just a landing skeleton page of about 10 entries:( Ce’st la vie.
I actually found the setlists on another live journal linked to the Promotion group I was partner of, but again a lot has been erased. So I decided to move them here for anyone who might be interested in checking out old classics and add another piece of the jigsaw to the details of my DJ career.

I would like to apologise about the late start and early finish of the event which was beyond my control. I’m also a bit disappointed people(around 60) were denied access/informed I wasn’t djing. Es waren wieder vier eindrucksvolle Tage + Nächte mit positiven und
negativen Eindrücken zugleich. Positiv für uns, dass man viele Leute
aus vergangenen Jahren wieder getroffen hat, das Wetter größtenteils
mitgespielt hat und unser Geldbeutel nicht allzu sehr belastet
wurde. Was man aber anders machen könnte (und in diesem Punkt sind
wir intolerant ) die verschiedenen Musikrichungen strikt auf
bestimmte Veranstaltungsorte zu verteilen. So würden sich bestimmte
Konzerte, die man gerne sehen möchte nicht überschneiden und man
müsste als Goth nicht durch die halbe Stadt kutschieren. Wenn lt. den
Einträgen in diesem Gästebuch schon auf dem Agra-Gelände wildes
Electro-Techno-Gestampfe (Disko) gespielt wurde, brauch man ja nicht
die Location Moritzbastei für die gleiche “Kacke” missbrauchen. Außer
am Sonntag (DJ De`ath) war die Musik völlig unpassend für ein solches
Ambiente. Ein DJ-Name im Programm sagt ja nun gar nichts über die
Musikrichtung aus. Es wäre also sehr positiv, die Musikrichtung(en)
im Programm mit anzukündigen. Was in diesem Jahr auch belastend war,
wo aber den Veranstalter keine Schuld trifft, waren die ganzen
Spanner mit ihren “Super-Tele-Objektiven”, die nichts anderes zu tun
hatten als aus der Ferne kaum bekleidete Hintern oder tiefe
Ausschnitte für ihre Privatsammlung zu knipsen. Vielleicht könnte man
z.B. die MB mehr abschotten/sichern vor solch lüsternden Opas? Leider
hatten auch wir den Eindruck, dass dieses Jahr die Besucher eher
einen oberflächlichen Kontakt untereinander pflegten und kaum das
Interesse bestand aufeinander zuzugehen. Unsere Fotos (sehr viele )

Hallo,
mittlerweile wieder erholt schaue ich auf das Pfingstwochenende
zurück.
Wie einige meiner Vorredner schon anmerkten fehlte ein wenig Wave und
Gothic, aber wer suchet, der findet.
Vielleicht habe ich einfach schon zu viele Bands gesehen, als dass
mich das noch so wahnsinnig reizen würde gaaaanz viele Konzerte zu
sehen.
Also Cherrypicking betreiben. Und da war die schönste Perle das Pink
Turns Blue Konzert in Urbesetzung. In den frühen 90ern habe ich PTB
zwar schon um die 7mal sehen können, aber mit Tom Elbern an der
Klampfe war das der Oberhammer!
Schön waren auch noch Funhouse, Ikon, Escape With Romeo und Wayne
Hussey.
Bei der line-up Gestaltung gab es aber einige stilistische Brüche,
die dann wohl auch organisatorische Auswirkungen hatten. Funhouse im
eher elektronischen Umfeld ging ja noch, aber Blutengel passte nun
überhaupt nicht zu den restlichen Bands auf der Parkbühne, so dass
ein wohl recht schleppender Austausch des Publikums die Folge war…
Bei den DJ Events frag ich mich doch, ob die Leute wirklich auch noch
beim WGT den gleichen Einheitselektrosound hören wollen, den sie in
ihren heimischen “Düsterdiscos” jedes Wochenende vorgesetzt bekommen.
Aber auch hier gab es Alternativen. Da war zum einen die externe
Gothic Pogo Party in der Tangofabrik (einfach klasse!) und auch DJ
De`ath in der MB legte prima auf. Das war mir auch noch nicht
passiert – mit Chris McCarter von Ikon und der Escape With Romeo
Truppe abtanzen. Leider war schon um 3h Schluss und in den beiden
anderen MB Discos lief dann noch der übliche Schrott, eine
Unterscheidung war nicht möglich.
Ansonsten:
Security war ok
Einsammeln von Digicams an der Parkbühne war seltsam
Getränkeausschank an der Parkbühne (-> das war nicht gerade
umsatzfördernd…)

in a 13th century castle in Northumberland (U.K.). Events include
talks, workshops and ritual performances old & new all driven around
a central theme of Ritual Magick. A local storyteller will provide
entertainment in the evening and there will be a Gothic Masked Ball
