cover

Yet another great compilation of covers put together by Brazil’s The Blog That Celebrates Itself. The album opens with a cover of The Cure’s The Same Deep Water As You by People Of Nothing a coldwave band from France very nice cover. Next comes a cover of The Jesus & Mary Chains Just Like Honey by Travelling Wave from Brazil. The Female vocals add to an exceptional cover. A Siouxie And The Banshees cover of their song Christine by Moonsters from Montevideo follows an interesting grunged up version. Suicide’s Ghost Rider is covered by Demure For Sure from the USA which is quite close to the original. Next is a cover of Ethiopia’s song Ovazio by Sigundo Inverno which fits perfectly with this unusual mix of covers. Catherine Wheel’s Crank is covered by Silo Halo from Washington – a very nice version. Death In June’s – Fields Of Rape is covered by As Amigas De Plastico from Brazil giving it a swamp rock feel. Spellbound from Siouxsie & The Banshees is covered by Anna Madorsky from Loas angeles gives it a dream pop feel. Possibly the best track on the album comes from Brazil’s Escarlatina Obsessiva who do a storming cover of Siekiera’s Nowa Aleksandria. Epic! The Liar Script from San Fransico – Cover The Sounds Winning, a great choice and a great cover. Jenni Sex from Brazil covers A Forest from The Cure. Nice psychedelic cover. The album closes with a cover Bronski Beat’s Small Town Boy by People of Nothing from France Downtempo and a lot darker feel in pitch and style to the original and maybe even better than the original. Great cover. Another fantastic compilation from The Blog That Celebrates Itself and a great way of promoting new bands. Looking forward to Vol III.
